Chef Dan and his kitchen team have come up with something special for you to enjoy by candlelight at home this Valentine’s Day — a warm, romantic dinner for two offering the best seasonal fare in Michigan. Bellflower’s Valentine’s Day meal includes;
- EITHER Wine-Braised Lamb Ragout featuring farm-raised Michigan lamb, homemade dumplings, and a hearty slow-cooked sauce of local carrots and sweet onions, OR vegetarian Bellflower dumplings served with a pesto made from broccoli rabe, Pecorino Romano cheese and pine nuts. (If you’d like to try both entrees – the pesto and the lamb ragout – we can also give you a half portion of each.)
- A Michigan Beet Salad.
- A Sticky Molasses Pudding – a riff on a traditional English Sticky Toffee Pudding – consisting of a soft, dense date cake made with both whole wheat and rye flours, and served with a Molasses Caramel Sauce.
- A bottle of Li Veli Passamante Negroamaro (2018) from Puglia, Italy. [The name comes from the Italian words “pass” (to pass) and “amante” (lover) after the forest next to the vineyards where young lovers would meet in secret. A big spicy nose with notes of tobacco, dill and caraway. The palate mirrors the nose but also has flavors of fig, dark plum, cloves, and pine that are accompanied by very smooth tannins, balanced acidity, and a medium body.]
This Bellflower special Valentine’s meal is available while supplies last for $115. The dinner can be had without wine for $85. All pickups will take place on Sunday, February 14 between 5:00 and 7:00.
